Destiny 2: Legacy Collection 2025 is coming to PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on June 9, the same day Bungie releases the game’s final live-service update.

Destiny 2 is getting one of its biggest PlayStation Plus drops yet, and the timing is hard to ignore.

Sony has confirmed that Destiny 2: Legacy Collection 2025, which costs $69.99 USD right now, is coming to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on June 9 for Extra and Premium/Deluxe members. That is the same day Bungie is set to release Monument of Triumph, which the studio has confirmed will be Destiny 2’s final live-service content update.

For longtime players, June 9 is already going to be a strange day. Bungie has said Destiny 2 will remain playable after the update, but the game’s regular live-service content updates are coming to an end. After years of expansions, seasonal stories, raids, dungeons, reworks, and plenty of ups and downs, this feels like a major turning point for the franchise.

Destiny 2: Legacy Collection 2025 Comes To PlayStation Plus On June 9

The Legacy Collection 2025 is a pretty huge package, especially for players who skipped some expansions or never fully caught up. It includes access to more than 50 Exotic rewards, the Prismatic subclass, and several major Destiny 2 releases.

Here’s everything included in the Destiny 2: Legacy Collection 2025:

  • The Final Shape Standard Edition
  • Lightfall Standard Edition
  • The Witch Queen Standard Edition
  • Beyond Light Pack
  • Shadowkeep Pack
  • Forsaken Pack
  • 30th Anniversary Pack
  • Pit of Heresy Dungeon
  • Shattered Throne Dungeon
  • Grasp of Avarice Dungeon

There are some important things to note here, though. Dungeon Keys for The Final Shape, Lightfall, and The Witch Queen are sold separately. Also, the Beyond Light and Shadowkeep campaigns are already open to all Destiny 2 players, so this bundle includes their pack content rather than those campaigns.

Still, for anyone jumping in through PlayStation Plus, this is one of the easiest ways to get a large part of Destiny 2’s modern content in one place.

The news also comes during a messy time for Bungie. Reports have claimed that Destiny 3 is not currently in active development, while Bungie is shifting more attention toward Marathon. At the same time, Destiny fans have been rallying behind a fast-growing petition calling for Destiny 3, with the petition recently crossing 200,000 signatures.

Bungie also announced a new Destiny 2: The Collection bundle as part of its end-of-live-service update plans. Launching on June 9, this new package will bring all Destiny 2 content packs together into one single purchase, including campaigns, Dungeon Keys, the 30th Anniversary Pack, and more.

It should make the game much easier to understand for new and returning players, since Destiny 2’s expansion structure has often been confusing and expensive to piece together. Bungie also confirmed that individual content packs and expansions will receive permanent price cuts in June, giving players more affordable ways to catch up on the game’s older content.

June 9 may end up being both a final sendoff and a fresh starting point for some players.
