Bungie has released a new blog post on its website, featuring some of the exotic weapon changes players can expect to see in the upcoming Season of the Deep. Along with these weapon changes, Bungie has also revealed that Destiny 2 is finally getting a feature that players have been asking for, for years now.

It’s now official that players will be able to rotate weapons when previewing/inspecting them—which is a huge upgrade. In the blog post, Bungie states that with the release of Season of the Deep, they are “doing an overhaul to the way we showcase weapons and other items in the Inspection Screen with some highly requested improvements.”

  • You will be able to rotate weapons, similar to the armor pieces.
  • Added support for ambient VFX to play for weapons that have them.

That’s not everything! This improved tech also branches out to the Eververse ornaments, and yes, you heard that right, ships. “This applies to your inventory, and also when inspecting ornaments in the Eververse store,” the blog post reads.

“These tech improvements have had compounding benefits, enabling us to also allow you to rotate ships and preview their contrails. We’ve also removed the depth-of-field blur from our weapon, ship, and armor preview screens to allow you to see all the angles of your gear better!”

You can check out the preview below.

Apart from the inspection overhaul, Bungie has also teased a big update on Sparrows in Destiny 2 (perhaps, Sparrows transmog?) saying “We’re working on an update to Sparrows that will allow players to use their favorites instead of Always on Time (without touching AoT itself).”

Destiny 2 Season of the Deep launches next week, on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 10 AM Pacific. There’s also a new dungeon launching on Friday, May 26, 2023.
