Necrochasm, the fan-favorite exotic auto rifle has returned in Destiny 2 with the release of Crota’s End raid in Season of the Witch. The raid features updated mechanics for each encounter, new and returning rewards, and the exotic catalyst for the raid’s exotic weapon.

How to Unlock Necrochasm’s Exotic Catalyst in Destiny 2
In order to unlock the exotic catalyst, you need to complete the two timed trials in the Crota’s End raid, where you will need to defeat hoards of enemies, including Gatekeeper Knights. Here’s how to start the puzzle.

At least one member of your Fireteam must have Necrochasm equipped to start the puzzle/time trials
There are two plates that you need to activate for each puzzle. The first plate is located after the Bridge encounter. Instead of going up the staircase to the Thrallway, head toward the right end of the area, and you’ll see a small plate with a green glow around it.
To begin the puzzle, hop onto the plate while Necrochasm is equipped, otherwise, the plate will not work. You will then have precisely one minute and thirty seconds to complete this timed challenge.
A message will pop up on the lower left side of the screen saying “Crota’s minions appear.” From there, all you have to do is kill the Swordbearers, take the Hive sword, and clear all the waves of enemies, including tons of Gatekeeper Knights until a message pops up announcing “Crota’s Minions are defeated.” You can use your Supers, Tractor Cannon for debuffs for more convenience.
The second plate is after you complete the Deathsinger encounter. Instead of starting the final Crota encounter, make your way toward the far bottom right room where the Hive Boomer Knights spawn at the top.
You will find another glowing plate in the room. Equip Necrochasm, jump on the plate, and you will start the second and the last timed trial. Similar to the previous one, you will get a total of one minute and thirty seconds to complete the entire puzzle.
Defeat the Swordbearers, take their swords, and eliminate all Hive Gatekeepers and Wizards to obtain the exotic catalyst for Necrochasm. Expect multiple waves of enemies, so utilize your Supers or other exotic weapons.
After you’ve acquired the exotic catalyst, the next thing you need is to collect 35 Essence of the Oversoul to complete the catalyst. The Essence of the Oversoul can drop by completing encounters in the Crota’s End raid.
Necrochasm Exotic Catalyst Perk
The exotic catalyst for this weapon adds the Outlaw perk to the weapon, allowing it to gain increased reload speed on precision kills.
- Outlaw: Precision kills greatly decrease reload time.
