Bungie has dropped the first teaser for a returning weapon for Destiny 2’s upcoming Episode Heresy in a new cryptic post.
The clock is ticking for Destiny 2’s Episode Revenant as Act 3 comes to a close. This episode has been all about the Eliksni, the Scorn, with vampire hunter vibes. Right now, players in Destiny 2 are trying out the new Kell’s Fall exotic mission as we inch closer to the next episode.
Episode Heresy, which launches on February 4, 2025, is taking players back to the beloved destination, the Dreadnaught. With less than a month to go, it seems the hype train for Episode Heresy has officially left the station.
Bungie’s latest cryptic post on X (Twitter) is the first official teaser we’ve seen.
Destiny 2 Episode Heresy Repried Weapon
Here’s what Bungie post on the Destiny 2 Team X account: “On a clover, if alive, erupts a vast, pure evil; a fire volcano.” Not only is this statement hauntingly poetic, but it’s also a palindrome, it reads the same backward as forward.
Fans quickly connected the dots and began speculating that this is a teaser for the return of the much-loved hand cannon, “The Palindrome.”
The Palindrome is one of the most iconic weapons in Destiny’s history. Originally introduced in Destiny 1, it made a triumphant return in Destiny 2 during The Witch Queen expansion. This legendary 140 RPM Void hand cannon became a staple in both PvE and PvP gameplay. If Bungie is bringing it back for Episode Heresy, players can expect it to feature a completely refreshed perk pool.
Speaking of Heresy, we already know it brings the Dreadnaught back as a destination, along with bone-themed weapons, two new armor sets, and a new dungeon which launches on Friday, February 7, 2025.
