A PlayStation Store ad has leaked early, giving fans their first look at Destiny 2’s Edge of Fate and Renegades expansions, ahead of Bungie’s big reveal.
Just hours before Bungie’s reveal event for Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate and Year of Prophecy, another major leak has dropped, this time straight from the PlayStation Store. The full showcase is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, May 6, at 9 AM PT, where Bungie will officially reveal the next year of content for the game.
Recently, the Bungie Store accidentally revealed details about Destiny 2: Year of Prophecy through the Collector’s Edition listing, mentioning two expansions, Edge of Fate and Renegades.
Now, players are seeing ads for “Destiny 2: Year of Prophecy Ultimate Edition” early on the PlayStation Store, giving us our first real look at characters and weapons from these upcoming releases.
PlayStation Store Leak Confirms Edge of Fate, Renegades, and New Guardian Visuals
The advertisement (thanks, QuantumRiot7) features six Guardians in total, each holding new weapons. What immediately stood out to fans is one Guardian wielding a glowing energy sword that looks like it’s a lightsaber from Star Wars.
Front and center, the Hunter is holding a weapon that looks heavily inspired by Han Solo’s iconic DL-44 blaster. That detail alone has fans wondering if Bungie could be introducing a completely new weapon type in the Edge of Fate expansion.
The image also confirms both the Edge of Fate and Renegades expansions, thanks to the clear icons displayed at the bottom of the key art. This lines up with the earlier Collector’s Edition leak from the Bungie Store. So far, we know that Edge of Fate is set to launch on July 15, 2025, but there’s still no confirmed release window for Renegades.
You can check out the leaked images for both expansions below.
While the PlayStation Store listing confirms their existence, it doesn’t include pricing for the Standard or Ultimate Editions just yet. However, the Collector’s Edition pricing has already been confirmed: $275 USD with the game, and $175 without it.
The Collector’s Edition bundle comes with a detailed statue featuring all three Guardian classes mid-Super, printed lore materials, a heavy metal badge, and digital extras like the official soundtrack and an exclusive emblem.
With the official reveal happening tomorrow, we won’t have to wait long for more info. But what do you think so far? Do those new weapons look interesting? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
