Just like any other game, Destiny 2 has its fair share of bugs and glitches. But recently, with the release of Lightfall, there’s one exotic weapon that’s been causing a whole lot of trouble for Bungie and helping players insta-kill raids and dungeons bosses in the game.

If you’ve been following our coverage on Destiny Bulletin, you would know what weapon we’re talking about. It’s the new Lightfall exotic glaive called Winterbite—which is now “the new Telesto” in Destiny 2.

Since Lightfall launched, Winterbite has been disabled once and patched twice. And despite getting all those hotfixes, the weapon is still broken, with the weirdest game-breaking bug yet.

Another Winterbite Game-Breaking Bug Discovered in Destiny 2

On Sunday, there were several clips posted on Twitter and YouTube of what seemed like a new bug that allowed them to instantly kill bosses (both raids and dungeons). At the time it was unclear what was the reason behind this. However, earlier today, A2TC posted a video on their YouTube channel explaining this game-breaking glitch in detail.

In order to replicate this glitch, you would need one more player with you in an activity. The second player with the Winterbite exotic glaive equipped has to shoot the Stasis projectile at the boss and before the projectile hits the boss, they have to completely exit the game. (Alt+F4 on PC and Quit on consoles)

After the second player has closed the game and the Winterbite’s projectile has hit the boss, the first player needs to do a little bit of damage to the boss to update its health bar. You can use something like Tractor Cannon, Witherhoard, or any ability.

If done correctly, you’ll see the boss’ whole health bar disappear (or chunks of it in some cases). Watch the video demonstrating this glitch in Destiny 2 below.

As of the time of writing this article, Bungie has not yet responded to this glitch. However, given the magnitude of its impact, it’s only a matter of time before Winterbite is disabled in Destiny 2. Rest assured, we’ll keep you posted and update this article accordingly.
