Destiny 2’s Savathun voice actor Debra Wilson shares an in-character farewell message to players after Bungie confirms the end of live service updates.

Destiny 2 is heading toward the end of an era. Last week, Bungie confirmed that the game’s final live service content update, Monument of Triumph, will launch on June 9, 2026. The game will still remain playable, but active development is coming to a close after years of updates.

The news has hit the Destiny community hard. Some players are angry, some are sad, and others are trying to make peace with it. Since Bungie’s announcement, several Destiny voice actors have started sharing farewell messages with fans.

Now, Debra Wilson, the voice of Savathun, has joined in with a message that feels painfully fitting for the Witch Queen herself.

Debra Wilson Shares In-Character Savathun Farewell Message To Destiny 2 Players

The message appears to come from a video uploaded by Joe Jones on YouTube, and based on the way it was shared, it looks like it may have been requested through Cameo or a similar service. Wilson delivers the message fully in character as Savathun, mixing her usual mockery with something that feels surprisingly sincere.

She starts by addressing Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans, telling them that “all things must come to an end.” In true Savathun style, she jokes that she is sick of looking at Guardians’ faces, but then tells players not to be sad. The message turns into a strange but touching farewell, with Savathun telling Guardians to go back to their real lives, their families, jobs, weekends, and everyday routines, but to do it with meaning.

Wilson’s Savathun also reminds players that they needed her to defeat the Witness, before saying they no longer need her now. It is funny and a little heartbreaking, which is probably the most Savathun way this could have gone.

Here is the full message:

“Look at all of you. All of you Guardians mine.

“To all you Hunters. To all you Warlocks. And to all you Titans.

“All things must come to an end. Quite frankly, I’m sick of looking at your faces, so I’m glad. But don’t be sad about it. Don’t be maudlin. Come, come now, Guardians. You killed me, I killed you, our little Ghosts brought us back. Which means you have a life. Go, live it.

“Although it won’t be the same, let’s admit it. It’ll never be the same without me, honey. Let’s get real. But still, the real, the reality in your lives, your jobs, your spouses, your partners, your children, your weekends, the food you eat, the way you live. Now I wish the game hadn’t stopped.

“Certainly more interesting than your lives, I’m sure. Your computers, your IT, your shopping online. Where is the integrity in all of that? But there is love. I know there is, because all of you Guardians love to hate me, and there are others that love to love me. Yeah. So the party is over. Get back to what you were doing, as boring as it was.

“Get back to your lives. Continue living them. But if you’re true Guardians, Guardians mine, don’t be boring. Live with integrity. Live with power. Live.

“Playing with me, Cayde-6, and everyone else who doesn’t matter. You had a meaning. Take all of that and put it back into your own reality. You see, I really am wise. The queen of cunning.

“Yes, lies, deception, but cunning and wisdom. Otherwise, you wouldn’t come to me. And remember, you never would have defeated the Witness without me. So, you needed me. But now, Guardians, you don’t. And that’s life. Who knows? Who knows what could happen in the future?

“I doubt it, but who knows anyway? And in the meantime, live, Guardians. Live. No more battles, no more wars, no more armament, no more drip. If you think about it, your planet has done enough to itself to destroy it.

“So perhaps, where you live out there in your world and your countries, you’ll put down your arms then. Perhaps life will then make greater sense.

“I truly am wise, aren’t I? And maybe, for the first time, I’m not lying to you. Truth is a funny thing, isn’t it?”

This comes as Destiny fans continue pushing for the future of the franchise. Crow/Uldren Sov voice actor Brandon O’Neill recently backed the #WeWantDestiny3 campaign, telling fans to keep using the hashtag. A fan petition asking for Destiny 3 also gained traction after Bungie’s announcement.

Apart from that, earlier today, a new report claimed Bungie once considered a Destiny 2 relaunch called Destiny Infinity, instead of moving forward with Destiny 3. Another report also brought back discussion around Lightfall, with former Bungie community manager Liana Ruppert saying players never got to see the original version of the expansion, which she described as “glorious” before it was cut.

For now, Bungie has not announced Destiny 3. Destiny 2’s final update arrives June 9, and the community is clearly still processing what this means.
